We do not install cameras that operate on WiFi.
All our systems are hardwired for maximum reliability and security. WiFi cameras are prone to signal drops, security interference and limited storage capacity, typically relying on SD cards that can’t reliably record continuous, high-quality footage.
Our systems typically require 120 volts for power and we run proper Cat5e or Cat6 cabling for both power and data, ensuring a professional-grade, dependable setup.

Quinte Smart Homes’ staff do not run on commission and are paid a fair living wage.
This means you will have a relaxed, pressure-free experience with us.
Our team is here to offer honest advice and recommend only the products we stand behind as a company.
Yes! Quinte Smart Homes is owned and operated by Justin Davidson, a master electrician, and we have electricians on staff.
We understand that every client’s budget is different and unique to their specific needs.
To serve you best, we ask that you share your budget with us upfront. This allows us to recommend equipment that fits within your range while giving you an understanding of the pros and cons of different options and packages at various price points so you can make an informed decision.
Please note that we only install our supplied equipment because it’s imperative to our brand that we stand behind products with strong reliability, longevity and user experience.
If you require financing, we offer options through Finance It.
For projects over $1,000, we require a site visit to ensure our quote is accurate and the price you’re given is the price you’ll pay, with no surprises once the job is done.
Most projects require a deposit on equipment before we place any orders. Labour is billed separately and only due once the project is fully completed. Payments are typically divided into smaller stages.
Your formal quote will include:
Please note: We do not provide itemized pricing for individual equipment pieces. We bundle products to secure the best possible rates through our distributors, passing those savings along in the total. In some cases, certain equipment needs a specific component, so they must go together and cannot be priced à la carte. The equipment total is firm and non-negotiable.
Professional installation ensures everything works correctly and securely and is under warranty. This includes testing, setup, device configuration and ensuring your network can handle the system.
We list this as “Labour” on your quotes and invoices. While you may see us on your property for just a few hours, our labour includes much more than on-site work:
We price our services based on the quality, education, experience and resources we bring to every job.
We use professional estimating software to keep projects on track and fairly priced for the type of work and equipment involved.
Think of it like this: A dentist, plumber or lawyer charges based on their skill, experience, equipment and the costs of running a professional business, and this is how we also operate.
We understand we may not fit every project and budget, and that is okay. What matters most to us is working with clients who respect our pricing, process and team’s time.
If you’re looking for someone who will cut corners to meet the lowest price, we may not be the right fit. But if you want a partner who respects your time, delivers with integrity, and treats your project as if it were their own, then you’ve found the right team 🙂
